1 - Water (4:40)

"Water" is a cry through evolutionary empty space, a song that aims to sail backwards in time in mourningful longing for an embryonic primordial sea. Near the existential origin we see time halt and consciousness dissolve in warm amniotic waters - the manifestation of calmness and prepersonal truthfulness before we are rushed into tumultuous being of artifical reality.

"Water" opens the "Verrückt" album showing a glimpse of an Eden reachable through madness, entering a state of "verrückt'ness".

With prominent features of yearning and dissolution of self, the song registers as a kind of fado song, really the first Frank penned down. The Fado sings songs of mourning that belong to a tradition and musical era which have long gone except in tradition. An even older, but better comparison, is the Lundum, a dance and musical style with roots from at least the 18th century.

"Water" also marks an early start for Frank Lundum's personal entanglement with the genre, echoing the notion of musical fate which reverberates through the genre.
